Our young adult ministry believes that we are called by Christ to be living witnesses of His gospel in our world today. As disciples of Jesus, we strive to be faithful in his teachings and responsibly participate in the life, mission, ministry, and work of the Catholic faith community. We are called to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each person by building a community of faith, friendship and service to one another and to our fellow brothers and sisters.

CatholicNWK aims at proposing activities for young adults in their 20’s and 30’s, college students, single and married young adults. It’s a great opportunity for our young adults to have fellowship activities to get to know each other better, and to make great friends, to be enriched spiritually through learning the Catholic faith, through studying and sharing the scriptures, and through serving the Church with their gifts and talents.

every monday beginning march 11th

Have you ever asked yourself "Is there more to life than this?" or "What's my purpose in life?"

Then Alpha is for you.

Alpha is an informal meet-up where college students and young adults - ages 18 to 35 - gather over a meal, watch a short film, and share in small group discussion. Search for life's deepest meaning, examine your happiness, and explore Christianity and Jesus with other likeminded seekers.

All college students and young adults (18-35) are welcome to attend! It doesn't matter how little or how much you may know about the faith, or even if you question your faith. Come, join us!

Every Monday starting March 11th at the Newman Catholic Center (91 Washington Street in Newark - corner of Washington and Bleeker).

ENCOUNTER (yA mass + adoration)

The Bible is full of stories of people whose lives were changed by their Encounter with Jesus. From those whose names we know, like the Apostles Peter or Paul, to the nameless ones like the woman at the well or the crippled man on the mat. One thing is certain, an Encounter with Jesus is life changing.

Encounter is a life-changing Archdiocesan event designed to bring people into the presence of Jesus. Encounter features dynamic praise and worship, Eucharistic Adoration, a powerful witness, opportunities for Confession, and authentic fellowship.

Most people have heard the “whats” of Catholic teaching, but very few have ever heard the “whys,” especially when it comes to sexual morality. Over the course of 6 sessions, we’ll discuss how the Church’s teaching on human sexuality makes sense because it corresponds perfectly with the deepest stirrings and desires of the human heart. Saint Patrick’s Pro-Cathedral Staff and Parishioner and Theology of the Body enthusiast Brandon Ocampo will present this series as we dive into St. John Paul II’s profound teaching on our bodies as gifts and our call to communion. After each presentation, we’ll break up into small group discussion and have time for Q&A as well.
